Baby's first proposal

Last week they celebrated summer birthdays, and Casey was the only summer birthday in her class. She was THRILLED. After MUCH deliberation about the perfect party favor, Casey decided on microphones, like the $3 one she bought herself at Target with her own money quite a while ago. She still uses it all the time, and Eric uses it to introduce her tap dancing recitals (home version).

After giving her a birthday crown and singing to her, everyone in the class made her a birthday card. This has to be the single best present any kid (or adult) could ask for. They don't usually do this, but at the end of the year, there is more time for this sort of thing. Two parents told me that their daughters said Casey is the luckiest one since no one else got cards from everyone.

Kids told her: I like how you do the monkey bars, I like being your friend, I like you, I like your clothes, I like your shirt, (both of the clothes ones are from boys), I like your laugh, I love you, I like your playing, Casey has heumr (humor?), I like Casey because she is nice, and lots of "I like to play with you" and "I like your smile" (one that said I like your smile you get dimples). The most surprising card was a marriage proposal from Sai (see the picture). I hope he knows she's planning to have four kids and live next door to us.
