The Mystery Spot

Sunday we went to the famous Mystery Spot. I have been there a few times now and it's still a mystery to me. On one side you look taller and the other side you look shorter -- I know it's an optical illusion but I still can't figure it out.

Hittin' the beach with the grandparents

More grandparents in town! We went to the beach with them and there was lots of playing and cartwheeling in the sand, sitting in the hot tub, walking on the beach, and searching for sand dollars. And of course lots of reading, game playing, and eating.

What's missing in this picture?

Casey lost her two front teeth in two days. They were getting SO wiggly that it was getting gross. One came out while she was brushing her teeth and the next day Karen pulled the second one while Ashley and I hid our eyes.

Here she is

Casey got to play cards and board games and computer games and she went to the park many times. she baked and cooked and made art projects. Her favorite part (besides being with her grandparents) was walking Kahuna. Somehow if she has a dog on a leash she can walk all the way to the park and back without a scooter.

Where's Casey?

While Casey was at home with Grandma Micki and Grandpa Ron, Eric and I went on a 10 mile hike on our day off! Crazy.

Happy Chinese New Year!

We went to the art museum to watch the Lion dancers and do some Chinese New Year Crafts (the girls made red envelopes and colored their own money to put in them). Their favorite thing was the $3 bouncy balls we let them buy from the gift shop. We were out there for a half hour throwing them around the plaza. By the time they were done, the line to take a picture with the lion dancers had died down and we didn't have to wait to long. Then the moms went for a powerwalk through the museum and we went to Brynn's for dinner. Lance gave them lemons so they made lemonade.

101st day of school

Here is Casey with her best buddy who she hangs out with after school. They were in the same class last year but not this year. All of the first graders dressed as dalmatians to see if they could get to 101. I think they didn't quite make it. It was funny to see Casey dressed for school without any crazy colors.

Hangin' with the grandparents

Casey took the grandparents to all of her favorite spots: school, gymnastics, soccer, the park, sushi, and mostly to her "studio" where she does her homework. They spent a lot of time up there. We also went to watch women's gymnastics at Stanford. It was a very exciting meet, even though you can't tell who is winning until the very end.

Casey was SO sad when they left. It was really hard. She's already counting down the days to Fourth of July.

Showing off her new desk

Grandparents are in town! Grandpa Larry and Grandma Kathy got to check out Casey's new desk and her new ladder. She has lots of plans for them this weekend. I think they will mostly be up there in her "studio" while Eric and I go out and party.

Teddy bear sleep over

The kids are learning about bears and got to leave their bears at school last night for a teddy bear sleepover. Those bears tore the place up. They turned over desks and spilled stuff and were just all over the place. When Casey saw what happened, she said, "My Pandoval would never do such a thing!" Hahahhaha. I told her that's exactly what we say when she gets in trouble at school.

The kids all had to work together to clean the place back up. They all got right to work. It was really cute.

She took a while choosing a stuffed animal that she could live without for a night. DogDog was definitely out, but he did get to come in in the morning to see what happened.
